My Magic Purse

After reading Susy's blog I decided to look and see what's in my own bag. I'm shocked how much stuff this little purse I'm carrying holds.  Really I think it's magic.  I wonder if Julia knows that she makes magic bags? I used to think it would only hold my cell phone and keys and maybe a little money.  But now, now I'm thinking I can just keep cramming things in this little purse forever and it will never quite fill up.

How do you like my tiny little photo?  I took it with my phone.  I guess the camera in my phone is for phone viewing only.  Or for little tiny mouse blogs:) Well, since I'm sure you can't see it, I'll tell you what's in the picture. This is what was inside my little purse this morning.
2 pretty pencils
scraps of paper to write on
checkbook
passport
money- bills and change
9 receipts (I don't even think I've been to nine places this week! What are all these receipts?)
Space Monkey lip balm - Yay! I found it in my car
keys
ear piece for my cell phone
cell phone (not in the picture but it was in the bag)
various cards- credit and coupon varieties
a few candy wrappers
and last but not least the phone number for the police officer who's handling my case and the serial numbers for my stolen GPS and real camera.  I just can't let it go! 

Have a great Wednesday everyone!  I think today will be a two post day. Maybe.  I meant to write about blogging this morning.  Jen passed on a little blogging questionnaire to me a long long time ago and I've never done it. 
Oh and today is the grand opening of Jen's new website, BeeBee Mod! It's a really cool shop! I made a wish list.  I'm just casually mentioning that just in case anyone is wanting to buy little E and me a present.  He He :)

a pretty purple morning

Spring is coming or maybe even already here; depending on how you look at it :)  This morning when we got home from picking Big E up from work it wasn't night anymore.  It was purple.

This picture doesn't really do it justice. The sky looked magnificent and was so good to see after a long gray winter.  I was starting to forget that the sky could go purple or pink or orange.  What a nice reminder.

Treasures in my Mailbox!

Here are some beautiful lovely things that were in my mailbox this week. Hmm... that sounds like they just magically appeared.  I ordered them of course from ashleyg.etsy.com and Satsuma Press. Hey, wouldn't that be great if I did have a magic mailbox and ... wait this is getting out of hand let me get back to my point. 

So anyways, like I was saying I ordered some terrific prints from Ashleyg's Etsy shop.  I am particularly excited to get one of her limited edition neighbor prints.  I saw it on her blog, kittygenius.com, and was thrilled that it was still for sale in her shop.  And her print Subtle Sea has been in my favorites list for like ever! so I'm excited I finally have it too.  I'm hoping that when E gets older she'll really like it.  It reminds me of reading poetry before bed with my mom when I was little.  It's so familiar to me.  I'm not sure why, but every time I try to put my finger on it I'm reminded of really nice things.  So that's a treasure for sure!

My next treasures came all the way from Satsuma Press in Portland, Oregon.  I've been thinking a lot lately about why we should all buy handmade.  And I've thought of a lot of great reasons but when I opened the chipboard mailer(with really nice stamps by the way) from Satsuma Press I remembered the real reason to buy handmade.  The purely capitalist reason why we should all buy handmade.  Handmade is just better!  The cards and calender I bought from Satsuma Press are so much better than anything you can find that's mass produced.  Her work is really wonderful.  You should get one of her calenders before they sell out. 

I would love to buy one of her Maple Leaves prints but I can't because we're saving all our money for walls.  That's right! Walls!  My husband and I bought a really charming really old house this summer and it turns out it needed major renovations. 

E's corner...um I mean room:)

We're in the middle of completely rehabbing our new old house:) So in the meantime, we're living in our 'studio apartment' which is actually a quite large room that was added on to the house some time in the recent past(maybe last 20 years?) It's actually really cozy.  It has a wood burning stove and I've set up rooms- bedrooms, dining and living room, office and entryway:).  Which is cute because it's all just one huge room. We even managed to make room for our Christmas tree:) Anyways, It will be great when it's done and I'll even have a really nice big studio space. Until then I'll have to wait to buy more treasures- like Lynn Russell's Maple Leaves.
