About a year and a half ago, maybe longer, I decided to save all of my cans and re-purpose them into cute pencil cups. At the time we were living in an apartment and didn't have any real option for recycling so it made sense. I started cleaning and removing the labels off of all of my tomato and Amy's Kitchen soup cans. My collection grew and grew but I never got around to making any cute pencil cups.
This summer our family came to visit so they could help us pack for our big move to our new house. I didn't even think about how strange my can collection must have looked. Well, until this weekend that is. I got so cracked up when I came across a box labeled 'Cans and Canvas' while looking for my missing Christmas decorations.
I think the writing is my moms and all the cans are packed so neatly. Can you imagine what she must have been thinking while packing up a box of empty soup cans?
So maybe I should actually make some of those cute pencil cups now.
This is a sample. Do you like it? The designs not quite right yet. But I think I see a cute pencil cup in this soup can's future:) and if I'm wrong? Then it's a trip to the curb in our fancy new green recycle bin.
