What do you think of my cartoon trees? That's what my husband calls them. I've been drawing them kind of obsessively for the last few years. I'm not finished with the one in the middle but I think it's turning out cute. (I may actually frame this one)
We had a fun and busy weekend. We went to the Christmas tree farm. It is so fun! You take this horse drawn hay wagon down a long dirt rode out to the Christmas trees. When you get there Santa is waiting to greet you and you can even feed his reindeer! Can you believe it? You pick out your tree and they cut it down for you then you ride the wagon back with your tree... it was all so very very Christmasy. I loved it! It really beats buying your tree from some guy in a trailer on the side of the road.
Except we were sooo cold! It must be obvious that we're not originally from here because people kept saying "So, where are you folks from?" I think it may have been because while all the other people were feeding reindeer and walking around talking to Santa and looking at trees, my family was huddled next to each other in the warming hut freezing to death! I don't get it -I'm not from that much farther south than here and I love snow skiing and vacationing in cold places but I just don't seem to have the same tolerance for cold weather that my new neighbors do.
Hope your weekend was fun too. And THANK YOU! to everyone who gave me such nice feedback on the first three pieces in my '08 line. It's so nice to hear that other people like what I've made. Especially on my "Keep it Together!" pieces because it takes so long to make them and the whole time I'm making them I'm really excited about how they look but there's that little voice in the back of my head that says " no one else is going to like this" Fortunately for me my other more positive voices normally drown that one out:) But it's still always nice to hear that other people like the same things I do.
